Support & Sponsorship

On behalf of the National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Strategic Leadership Council, we would like to invite you to take part in becoming a supporter and/or sponsors for NBHAADFebruary 7, 2008.

Since March 2005, we have planned activities and events to occur on February 7 simultaneously all over the country with February 7, 2007 having more than 1,950 locales (i.e. community based organizations, health departments, churches, civic groups, fraternities and sororities, etc.) participating.

Since its inception in 1999, NBHAAD has built a continued amount of steam amongst the public and private sectors by highlighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic nationally and locally within the African American community.  It has been featured on CNN, BET, over 175 Black newspaper publications, Ebony Magazine, Essence, etc.

In 2006 and moving forward, we included an additional component for our efforts – “Get Treated!” This is to get those currently living with HIV/AIDS to know their CD4 count and viral load so they too can make healthy decisions about next steps around their health.

Your support/sponsorship will allow us to develop and expand the materials and supplies we currently offer as well as identify innovative and creative ways to further mobilize African Americans around HIV/AIDS. We would like to provide theme specific posters for all segments of the African American community.

Last year, Gilead Sciences and Abbott Laboratories supported this initiative nationally, we are counting on you to assist us as we move forward! We are confident that this initiative can turn around the crisis in Black America, and you can help us make it a reality.

Below is key information on how you can become a Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze or General NBHAAD Supporter/Sponsor for 2008 and the benefits.  Our communities are counting on resources to make sure their planning efforts are supported by posters, postcards, an information packed and resourceful website, etc.  Healthy Black Communities, Inc. serves as the lead national agency responsible for mobilizing resources to pay for supplies and materials to make NBHAAD a success at the grassroots level.
