  One brother said when I propsed the idea 'Mama SoJourner if you feed us we will come"  It is a small effort, but I believe it still takes the whole Village to raise the child.

• The Staten Island Ryan White HIV CARE Network is asking local rap and spoken word artists to submit a rap or spoken work piece and to perform it at our National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day event. Prizes will be available for performers.  All rap and spoken word pieces must be related to National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day or HIV prevention.  Submissions should not contain language inappropriate for a public performance open to children and older adults.  Send your rap or spoken work no later than January 27th to be eligible to perform at the event.  Submissions may be sent to karina.ryan@chasiny.org or faxed to (718) 808-1391
