Many do not know that National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is the second oldest HIV/AIDS Awareness Day in the country, second to National HIV Testing Day. We're not sure what insight the late Dr. Mark Colomb, Ph.D. had when he came up with this national community mobilization campaign. The one thing we are sure of is that many of the things we do in print, online, and on the ground has served as a model for many of the Awareness Days that have evolved and come online since 2001. Below we have provided a list and link to the various HIV/AIDS Awareness Day initiatives that happen around the clock. We will also be partnering with some of them in the coming years as we co-brand and work in partnership to mobilize more Blacks around HIV testing and treatment.
