NBHAAD Best Practices

One of the exciting things about having worked directly with this initiative for so many years is participating, hearing and knowing about the great events and/or activities happening in communities locally, regionally and nationally. We salute those cities that have formed their own NBHAAD coalition or foundation. We honor those health departments and faith based organizations that budget each and every year for February 7th and the many things that happen. We honor the parades, community health fairs, marches/rallies and balloon releases.

So now, we want to share what has been done in the past as well as current activities underway that will serve as models for those struggling to ignite their local communities around National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. We know resources are limited in one way and the spirit of community is abundant in so many other ways. This will be the page where we will begin to shine the light on community stakeholders, organizations, groups, etc. that have a model that works. Our hope is that other community stakeholders will extract from those best practices identified and incorporate it into your planning efforts.

Stay tuned to this as, as we will be uploading samples of Best Practices for what we know has worked in Black communities to mobilize individuals to get educated, get tested, get involved, and get treated. Or, if you know of an event/activity that you feel would be a best practice for others to learn from, please contact us and let's get it on this website. Working together to save our Beloved Community is the great work ahead for all of us.
